A flow of particles___
The Sun appears to us as the quintessential unchanging star. Yet behind this apparent constancy lies a cyclical dynamic that can at times prove unpredictable. Episodes of heightened solar activity generate a flow of particles known as the « Solar Wind » ; this “wind” manifests itself on Earth in the form of auroras.
In « Solar wind », Lancelot Blondeel employs paper as a new painting substrate. The surface irregularities and natural grain of the paper allow him to reveal singular textural effects.
An organic form with a dynamic character___
The artist undertakes a dual exploration of movement. In the background, the path of charged particles leaving the heliosphere is rendered with broad brushstrokes. In the foreground, an organic form with a dynamic presence emerges from a gesture executed in a matter of moments.
Here, the artist seeks to confront the human experience of the present moment with the apparent impermanence of celestial bodies.
