A flow of particles___

The sun presents itself as the very image of constancy. Behind this apparent stillness lies a cyclical dynamic that can at times prove unpredictable. Episodes of intense solar activity can produce a flow of particles known as the solar wind - a phenomenon that manifests on Earth in the form of aurora borealis…

In this series, Lancelot Blondeel works with a new support, using paper as the ground. The irregularities and texture of the paper allow singular textural effects to emerge.

An organic form with a dynamic character___

The artist also engages in a twofold work on movement. In the background, traced with a wide brush, the trajectory of charged particles leaving the heliosphere unfolds. In the foreground, an organic form of dynamic character emerges - produced in a single mark made within moments.

The artist seeks here to set in tension the human experience of the instant against the apparent impermanence of celestial bodies.
